ARTIST STATEMENT:

Natureation came into being as an outgrowth of my enjoyment of nature and each of my hobbies, scuba diving, hiking, and jewelry making. I want to share the beauty I see with others and to promote an appreciation of the gifts of nature.

I began learning to wire wrap in order to create jewelry from the sea glass and shells we collected on the beach after scuba diving.

As my interest grew, I took classes and sought out additional training which led me to a lapidary club 10 years ago. There I learned to cut and polish gemstones. These natural gemstones & sea fossils now form the most frequent centerpieces of my work.
